Ah a much needed rest after a few very hectic months.
Thus a relaxing time in Cancun. While there we visited Xcaret, which is a theme-park type area. I am unsure how to describe it since there really is no American equivalent. It is part zoo, part historic park, part cultural center and part adventure land, a real interesting place. Also it is a place that you can spend a few days at. Things are spread out and not sitting right on top of each other.
Anyway, here is a bit from the night cultural show. It started with a Mayan ritual and progressed to some Mayan ball games. The first was their hoop game and pictures of that are to come, but the really fascinating one was the 'field hockey' type game. Here they used hockey sticks but the balls where on fire.
